Citizens
A battle-tested NPC engine — unlike characters that merely stand and talk, Citizens can give an NPC real movement: it walks, follows a route, steers around obstacles and can pathfind its way across the map. A character can be a human with its own skin or any animal or mob, it can wear equipment, react to clicks and carry out tasks. Here Citizens powers the Quartermaster — an NPC warehouse-keeper who walks the storeroom and helps sort and tidy things. It's more of a behind-the-scenes engine than something you drive yourself: an operator creates and configures the characters with a few /npc commands, while you just talk to them and interact by clicking. It runs alongside the simpler FancyNpcs — those suit static talking characters, Citizens is for when an NPC really needs to walk and find its way.
How to use
- 1Find a Citizens character in the world — here mainly the Quartermaster in the warehouse.
- 2Right-click it and let it do its thing (speak, help, run its action).
- 3Don't be surprised it moves around — Citizens gives it real pathfinding, so it walks its own route.
- 4You don't make your own NPCs here — an operator sets them up; you just enjoy what they do.
Citizens characters look almost like players, but they aren't — they're server-side NPCs that survive restarts and can't be robbed or carried off. And because they genuinely pathfind, they may wander a bit on their own; look for them along their route.
