CraftBook
A grab-bag of small touches that make survival nicer — no commands, just clever signs and natural mechanics. The headline feature is sign elevators: hang a sign reading [Lift Up] or [Lift Down] on a wall, place another one directly above (or below) it a floor away, and clicking a sign shoots you up or down between them — no redstone at all. You can also use [Lift UpDown], where the top half of the sign sends you up and the bottom half down, and if you'd rather not click the sign, a button on the other side of the block works too. Slain mobs (and players) also occasionally drop their head, which you can hang up as a trophy — right-click a placed head to see whose it is. And to top it off, here you can leash a zombie or a spider, so you can walk home a companion vanilla would never let you keep. Mobs are a touch smarter on top of that, and animals are born in slightly varied sizes, so a herd doesn't look copy-pasted.
How to use
- 1Elevator: put a sign on a wall and write [Lift Up] (or [Lift Down]) on the second line.
- 2A floor higher or lower, place another such sign directly above (or below) it so they line up.
- 3Click a sign → you're carried to the nearest lift sign above or below you (or press a button on the other side of the block).
- 4Heads: kill a mob or player and it sometimes drops its head; place it as decoration and right-click to see whose it is.
- 5With a lead you can even leash a zombie or a spider and walk it home.
A head only drops when you land the kill yourself (not from a cactus or a fall), and only about 5% of the time — a Looting sword raises the odds. And elevator signs must sit exactly above one another, or the lift won't catch.
