WorldGuard
The invisible guardian of our world. WorldGuard can mark out protected areas — spawn, towns, arenas, public buildings — and decide for each exactly what's allowed inside. A region is just a box between two corners you mark with the same wand as WorldEdit, so declaring "this is a safe zone" takes only a couple of commands. Rules are tuned with flags: turn off monster spawning, block building and breaking by outsiders, switch PvP on or off, add a welcome message on entry. As a player you mostly won't even notice it — you feel it as the calm around spawn and shared places where nobody can wreck your stuff. Your own home you protect here with the golden shovel via GriefPrevention; WorldGuard is the admins' tool for the big, shared spaces. The backbone of calm, grief-free play.
How to use
- 1(op) Take the //wand and left- and right-click two opposite corners of the area.
- 2Turn the selection into a region: /rg define <name>.
- 3Make it a safe zone: /rg flag <name> mob-spawning deny.
- 4Let friends build inside: /rg addmember <name> <player>.
- 5Any time, check the owners, members and flags with /rg info.
A region is exactly the box you mark — height included. So click high enough and deep enough for the protection to cover the whole build, not just one floor.
